About Kate

I have been teaching people yoga and meditation for over 30 years. Whether it’s on the yoga mat or in a meditation circle, I am passionate about helping people slow down to find stillness, spaciousness, and a connection with one’s creative spirit.

Born and raised a Quaker, my education includes learning meditation from Thich Nhat Hanh and studying yoga with BKS Iyengar in Pune, India. For fifteen years, I owned with my husband, Arthur Kilmurray, the Mystic River Yoga Studio in Medford, Massachusetts where I taught groups and private clients.

Since moving to Ojai, California in 2015, I have expanded my practice to include hand weaving classes, women’s meditation circles, and a Mom’s in Transition group. All three cultivate and teach self care—the art of slowing down, nurturing simplicity and a deeper connection with one’s self and others,

In my time outside of my teaching, I love spending time on my own yoga mat, getting out for a hike or a paddle, hanging out with my family, and using my hands for craft and contemplation.
